Zest Bistro on Barracks Row “Closed Until Further Notice”
This surprise announcement was posted this morning on the front of Zest Bistro at 735 8th Street.

Very Disappointing! Our favorite place to hang out on Saturdays. We will miss their wonderful staff!
Huge bummer! I wish there had been some warning so we could have had a final s’mores pie!
We’ve been enjoying Zest for many years, but there were signs they were going to close. Fewer clientele. Some nights, the staff hung out around the bar and were a bit noisy, with maybe 5 customers. Not trashing the staff, they were great over the years. But we redeemed all our points about 5 weeks ago, thinking this was coming.
I know what you mean about some of the staff. Some have been great and have been there a long time, but we had a disappointing incident when we went in for dessert and the hostess was all too ready to go home. We ended up not receiving service and left.
Still, this is a loss for the neighborhood. It was a consistently delicious restaurant that always had reservations available. I’m disappointed, particularly as Zest’s food was twice as good as Agua 301.

We were there on Sunday and their fryer had broken and the manager said they were expecting a repair person on Monday. How strange! Zest will be VERY missed by our family!
Sorry to see Zest close. Food was always good there.
