Monday, January 28

The Hill East Task Force meets at 7:00pm at St. Coletta of Greater Washington, 1900 Independence Avenue, SE.

Agenda:

DC contracted with a company to conduct community engagement related to the future of the DC jail.  The contract awardee will be sharing information about the contract and will be seeking your input on what should happen to the jail.

Community Meeting on renovation of Southeast Library, 1:30pm, at the Southeast Library. 

Friends of Southeast Library, in cooperation with Capitol Hill Village, is sponsoring a community meeting on planning for a new, expanded Southeast Library.  While the focus will be on  wants/needs of seniors, everyone is welcome to participate.

As part of community outreach, Richard Reyes-Gavilan, executive director of the city’s library system, will describe other recently built branch libraries, present the time-line for the new Southeast construction, and entertain comments and suggestions from the audience.  Funding of $23 million dollars is available for the project, which is expected to take four years.

ANC6A Transportation Committee meets at 7:00pm, Capitol Hill Towers, 900 G Street, NE.

Among items on the draft agenda:

Chick-Fil-A, 1401 Maryland Avenue, NE, has requested support for reinstatement of an expired construction permit #316465; the site plans have changed.

Evaluation of Commissioners’ lists of “pedestrian safety issues” to be grouped and prioritized for eventual submission to DDoT.

Tuesday, January 29

ANC6B’s Executive Committee meets at 7:00pm, in Hill Center.

The committee will determine the agenda for the February meeting of the full ANC.

Eastern Market Metro Plaza Advisory Committee meets at 9:00am in Hill Center. 

To receive and update on the planning process for the redevelopment of Eastern Market Metro Plaza.  The meetings are open to the public.
