The Week Ahead…& Some Photos from the Past Week

Last Friday, CM Charles Allen held community office hours at Radici, across from Eastern Market.  It’s an opportunity for residents to engage the CM directly with questions or concerns.  Allen will hold community office hours on Friday, May 6, from 9-10:30 am in Hill East at The Pretzel Bakery, 257 15th Street, SE. 

Multi-genre trumpeter Joe Brotherton performed at last Friday’s Live Jazz Friday Night at Eastern Market Metro Plaza. 

At last week’s meeting of the Eastern Market Community Advisory Committee, Chair Chuck Burger announced that a celebration of life for former EMCAC Chair Donna Scheeder will be held on June 14, at 5:30pm at the Hill Center.  Burger also announced that the Committee is seeking candidates to replace two vacancies on the board, one to be appointed by CM Charles Allen and the other by Mayor Bowser.

Last week, ANC6B Commissioner and current chair (and Planning and Zoning Committee chair) Corey Holman seized the occasion of CM Silverman’s April 28 Redistricting hearing to announce on Twitter that he will not seek re-election:  
“This hearing is another time to remind folks who live in the likely new 6B09, I will not be running again. If you live in the area below and have interest in running, I would love to discuss the joys (and pains) of being a commissioner and running for ANC.”  Image credit: Corey Holman
