Rumsey Will Close Thursday, October 1

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the DC Department of General Services (DGS) are excited to inform the community that the project to deliver a new Dr. William H. Rumsey Aquatic Center (635 North Carolina Avenue SE) is moving forward. To allow demolition of the existing building and construction of a new aquatic center, the Rumsey Aquatic Center will be closed to the public starting Thursday, October 1, 2026. 

Residents are invited to a community meeting on this project on Tuesday, September 22, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM, in the Eastern Market North Hall (225 7th Street Southeast). Meeting details are available here: https://rumsey.splashthat.com/
