  1. I am an Eastern Market artist who has centered much of my life around the market. One year ago it would have been safe say that my family and I were in the South Hall at least once and usually twice everyday. There were not only South Merchants that I considered friends, but some I spoke on the phone with several times a week after hours. Also about a year ago, very small group of outside community members became very active in market affairs with an almost Shakespearean talent for divisiveness. At this time I do not engage South Merchants in any way. Even on the weekends, I avoid entering the Market building whenever possible.
